Totems

The Totem was developed as a symbolic reverence toward the book as a structure. As Karen created different forms from each individual book, by folding them in varying geometric shapes, a new visual language was revealed by the typeface on the pages. Text and images appeared skewed from their original form, leaving the viewer questioning what exactly they were viewing.
